Completed in 1971, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, designed by architect Edward Durell Stone, and landscape architect Ed Stone, Jr., with Sasaki, Walker and Associates, and Lester Collins, is an iconic architectural treasure that serves both as the nation’s living memorial to President Kennedy and as the United States’ principal national performing arts center.
