In 2015, a single Vision Award was given at the Committee’s annual Christmas party in December.  The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Anne Lewis, AIA, for her accomplishments over the years that benefit all residents and neighborhoods in the District of Columbia.  Her achievements include funding for City Wildlife Center, a permanent, licensed wildlife rehabilitation center to treat and release injured and orphaned wildlife; the creation of Lights Out DC, a volunteer program with walking patrols that find and document dead/injured birds at high-rise and federal buildings from bird strikes; professional training and policy advice for architects, green-building professionals, building owners, and public officials on design elements to reduce bird mortality; and providing youth awareness, volunteer opportunities and internships that benefit students and the public in many neighborhoods.
