Mayoral candidates share views on planning, historic preservation, zoning and other issues
The C100 hosted a Candidates for Mayor Forum on Tuesday, February 25th at at the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Muriel Bowser, Jack Evans, Reta Lewis, Vincent Orange, Andy Shallal, and Tommy Wells have confirmed their participation. Vincent Gray’s participation was cancelled because of a schedule conflict.
Questions covered issues such as
- the authority of ANC’s, pop-ups,
- the Zoning Regulations Revisions,
- the Height Act, historic preservation,
- separating the Office of Planning from the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development,
- traffic congestion,
- streetcars,
- affordable housing,
- inclusionary zoning,
- expanding the boundaries of downtown, and
- setting a civic agenda.
